Flathead Valley Chess Club – August 2025 Swiss Tournament

Date: Tuesday, August 26, 2025 Location: Fraternal Order of Eagles Basement, 37 1st St W, Kalispell, MT Format: 3-round Swiss, USCF-rated (Regular + Quick) Time Control: G/25 + 5 second delay

Entry Fee: $25 (pay onsite) Prizes: 1st and 2nd place, amounts based on number of entries Registration Deadline: Monday evening, August 25. Register at https://caissachess.net/online-registration/index/7165

Round Times:

Check-In by 4:45 PM Round 1 – 5:00 PM Round 2 – 6:15 PM Round 3 – 7:30 PM

All rounds begin at scheduled times. Boards and pieces will be provided. Please bring your own clock. USCF membership required. No tiebreaks will be used—ties are shared.

ELIGIBILITY: A current USCF membership is required to register for this tournament (go to https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess to join or renew).

This tournament is open to all players, including Unrated.

Players must bring their own clocks and boards.

BYES: Must be requested at check-in. Zero-point byes only.

Club Chess

The club meets every other Tuesday beginning at 5:00 PM in the basement at the Eagles Club (37 1st St W). Take the stairs immediately inside the main entrance down. Our next meetups are:

We welcome all ages and skill levels. We host rated and non-rated tournaments from time-to-time. Drop by and check the scene out for free. Annual membership dues of $30 are required for continuing players.

Community Chess

Join us for casual chess each Thursday beginning at 4:00 PM at Steam Mountain Games in the Kalispell Center Mall.

Chess at the mall is the best place to get your feet wet. We welcome all ages and skill levels. Yes, absolute beginners are welcome! And it's FREE!
